Meagan Finlay is a PhD candidate studying under Professor Katherine Saltzman-Li. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on Japan and draws from media studies, performance studies, and performing arts history. Meagan’s dissertation traces the evolution of modern Japanese period dramas, or jidaigeki, in 20th and 21st century film and TV, and examines how the genre has adapted across mediums and historical moments.
