Zheng Chouyu is a renowned poet from Taiwan. Since his extraordinary debut with On the Dreamland in 1955, Zheng Chouyu (Wen tao Cheng) has become one of the most widely read and best-loved poets in the Chinese language. His work has been translated into English, Japanese, Korean, German, and French with over 15 collections of poetry published in 170 editions.
He received an MFA from the Creative Workshop of the English Department at the University of Iowa in 1972. He was a member of the Yale University faculty for over 30 years and his other appointments include Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong, and Chair Professor at the National Quemoy University and National Tsing Hua University.
