C. Julia Huang will be presenting the first of her two lectures, “The Social/Cultural Anthropology of Taiwanese Society,” which aims to give an overview of the development of the “field”: the anthropology of Taiwanese society. The lecture will introduce a list of selected social/cultural anthropologists and their work that has shaped the scopes of the field since around the 1970s. Dr. Huang received her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Boston University and is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. She is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Ho Center for Buddhist Studies, Stanford University.
