Zheng Chouyu‐ a renowned poet from Taiwan. Since his extraordinary debut with《On the Dreamland (夢土上) in 1955, Zheng Chouyu (Wen‐tao Cheng) has become one of themost widely read and best loved poets in the Chinese language. His work has been trans‐ lated into English, Japanese, Korean, German and French with over 15 collections of poetry published in 170 editions.

He received an MFA from the Creative Workshop of the English Department at the University of Iowa in 1972. He was a member of the Yale University faculty for over 30 years and his other appointments include Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong, and Chair Professor at the National Quemoy University and National Tsing Hua University.
