About
the forum :
Under the auspices
of the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center at the University of California,
Santa Barbara, the Forum for the Study of World Literatures in Chinese (FSWLC)
strives to promote, strengthen, and elevate the scholarly study and development
of world literatures in Chinese, as well as to foster research, English translation,
and international scholarly exchange in the field of contemporary Chinese
literatures. One of the main goals is to promote the study of
literatures written in Chinese by writers in the worldwide Chinese Diaspora
by providing a platform for dialogue and exchanges of opinions among international
scholars in this field. The term, "Forum" has been chosen to reflect
its intent--to serve as a place to nurture creative thought, where important
public issues can be explored and dynamically discussed among authors and
scholars.
