Ph.D. Student
Chinese modernity, medieval Chinese religions, critical theory

Email Address

I am interested in theoretical approaches to Chinese modernity and intellectual history. I would like to explore the formation of the modern Chinese state in the longue durée by, for instance, examining the relationship between Chinese political philosophy and medieval Chinese Buddhism and Taoism. I am also interested in contemporary China and modern Chinese subjectivity. In this respect, I am interested Chinese subject formation and Maoism during the Cultural Revolution.
