Yellow Emperor may have been a real historical figure, but the legends
surrounding him are much more interesting than the reality probably
was. He is popularly considered to be the ancestor of the Han
Chinese people, and is said to have invented a great number of things,
including the carriage, the crossbow, the bronze mirror, and the

Because he is such an important part of Chinese folklore, his
tomb, located in Huangling County, is a very popular tourist
destination, and much effort has been put into preserving and restoring
