Tourism in East Asia

Kagawa Prefecture, Japan

Kagawa Prefecture is located in the northeastern area of the island of Shikoku.  It's Japan's smallest prefecture by land area, but there are many things to see there.  Tourist sites in the capital city of Takamatsu include the historic Ritsurin Park and Reoma World, the island's largest amusement park.  The original Reoma World operated from 1991 to 2003, and New Reoma World opened in April of 2004.  Its name is an abbreviation for Rejā wo Ōmishi ni makasete, meaning "Leave leisure to Ōmishi."  Ōmishi is the park's founder.  The "Oriental Trip" section of the park has areas themed to represent China, Korea, Bhutan, Nepal, Thailand and "the Middle East."
