| One
of
the tourist
attractions located in Fukushima Prefecture is British Hills, a resort
located at the top of a mountain. It recreates the atmosphere
of
Britain for its visitors' education and leisure. Tazawako was a town named after neighboring Lake Tazawa. The town was merged into the new city of Semboku in 2005. It is home to several skiing areas and hot springs, as well as Tazawako Swiss Village. Reading Connection Both British Hills and Tazawako Swiss Village are mentioned in the article "Foreign Country Theme Parks: A New Theme or an Old Japanese Pattern?" by Joy Hendry. The former is described in some detail. For More Information Fukushima Prefecture Home Page (In English!)
