Caitlin
Healy was the TA for Tourism in East Asia during Fall 2006. At
that time, she was a second-year student in the EACLS M.A. program,
focusing on contemporary Chinese culture - particularly piracy and
censorship issues, along with popular literature, film, and
music.
During the last few years, she received a B.A. in Philosophy
(philosophy of mind and existentialism) and Psychology from Augustana
College in Rock Island, IL, taught undergraduate English courses at Hua
Zhong Normal University in Wuhan, China, and studied Mandarin Chinese
at Peking University. She has traveled to many places in China,
and
can contribute long-winded anecdotes about many of the travel
destinations examined in this course.
